Through their work the artists reflect on the relationship between man and nature, by raising awareness on the need to conduct eco-friendly. Thus, the famous Farnsworth House designed by Mies van der Rohe, will be recreated in the Macro to become an unusual house inhabited by butterflies, now among the most sensitive species to climate change.
So the name "As a wing-beat" is based on the work of two artists and inspired by the butterfly effect theory: "The butterfly effect tells us that the flapping of the wings produces a tiny change in the initial condition of system, causing a chain of events that leads to an alteration of phenomena on a large scale. "
For this reason, the competition aims to gather creative ideas on saving energy by requiring users to suggest those simple behaviors in daily life, if done on a large scale, would lead to great results.
